Re: TDIH |
Just had my first Hollywood Bowl experience last Sat nite. That place is epic, truly a magical venue with tons of history. Pretty plain looking in daylight, but when they get the lights going-whew-and the acoustics! awesome! I can only imagine the fellas tearing it up there with the WOS.
I went for the venue as much as the bill. Saw a spectacular show there-Bugs Bunny at the Symphony.
All your favorite Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies backed up LIVE onstage by the LA Philharmonic, or the "LA Phil," as the program called it. Took the kids-loads of fun. Highlights included a "first set" ending Rabbit of Seville, and a 2nd set finale of Long Haired Hare (where Bugs brings down the Bowl)and of course, What's Opera Doc (yes, Elmer kills the wabbit). What could they do for an encore, you ask? How 'bout Ride of the Valkyries with perfectly timed fireworks!F----g spectacular

Re: TDIH |
Take this back 35 years ago - what you just described hasn't changed one bit. Now imagine 18,000 drug crazed hippies, I mean Dead Heads, sitting in those very same boxes and marveling at the irony of it all. White wine and roast chicken vs. peyote and tequila. :)
